アルファキサン マルチドーズは、オーストラリアをはじめ欧州・北欧諸国で動物用医薬品として登録、販売されています。
製剤は注射用水にシクロデキストリンとアルファキサロンを溶解した、無色～微黄色澄明な中性（pH6.8～7.6）の注射液です。

使用の目的

犬及び猫における吸入麻酔薬による全身麻酔時の麻酔導入に使用します。

効能・効果 犬及び猫における吸入麻酔薬による全身麻酔時の麻酔導入
成分・分量 本品1mL中、アルファキサロンを10mg含有する。
用法・用量 体重1kg当たり、アルファキサロンとして、犬には2～3mg、猫には5mgの用量で、動物の状態（体型、年齢、全身状態等）を考慮し、喉頭反射を確認しながら上記用量の範囲内で、60秒かけてゆっくりと静脈内投与する（1/4量を15秒毎）。上記用量を投与しても十分な麻酔深度に達しない場合は、再度、同用量を投与することができる。ただし、規定量に満たない場合でも、麻酔導入が完了したと判断される時点で、投与を終了する。
