Working Together for Better Animal and Human Health Worldwide.

Meiji Animal Health is a new company built on a commitment to enriching people's lives through animal health. This commitment, combined with our comprehensive approach, has helped us achieve so much since our founding in April 2022. It motivates us now, and keeps us focused on our future goal of becoming the global source for animal and human health everywhere.

Some may find it surprising, but I am allergic to cats. However, this never deterred my unwavering passion for animal health, leading me to become a licensed veterinarian with a major in veterinary medicine. This path eventually guided me towards a career as a researcher specializing in zoonoses. Over time, my focus shifted towards studying infectious diseases in cattle, with a particular interest in mycoplasma.

Through my studies, I learned about global health risks, such as pandemics, avian influenza, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). I also discovered the vital connection between human, animal, and environmental health, which presents a possible solution in reducing these risks.

My interest deepened with the introduction of the One Health approach, which recognizes this common link and brings together experts to address global health issues like zoonoses, infectious diseases that spread between humans and animals. Another related issue is antibiotic overuse, which can lead to AMR, making antibiotics less effective in treating diseases.

Therefore, it's crucial to carefully develop and administer these products. Fortunately, Meiji Animal Health is well-equipped to tackle these global health risks. Our precise formulations, along with the detailed administration instructions and AMR monitoring systems we provide, ensure our products are always safe and effective.

In pursuit of our global vision, we utilize these capabilities, our understanding of One Health, and our core strength as a company: the ability to provide complete coverage, from prevention to treatment.

In fact, our company was established as a model of this comprehensive approach when Meiji Group's pharmaceutical sector integrated KM Biologics and Meiji Seika Pharma's veterinary medicine divisions, leveraging the strengths of each. Our plan is to extend this approach beyond our current business and become the go-to source for animal health solutions around the world.

To that end, we already collaborate with overseas companies, sharing knowledge, technology, and products. Soon, we will enhance current strategies such as out-licensing our in-house products and offering in-licensing to encourage overseas companies to expand their products and operations to Asia.

Our comprehensive approach, supported by the ideas of One Health, will enable us to improve health worldwide, driving sustainable business growth and establishing us as a global leader in the field.

I truly believe in the core values and strategies of Meiji Animal Health, and I look forward to working with everyone who shares these ideals. Together, we can bring a better future for the well-being of animals, humans, and the world we share.
